I think intelligent life beyond Earth already exists here, but developing the perception to "perceive" or tune into the beings all around us, whether in physical or spiritual form, will be the key to "discovering" intelligent life.



Maybe not so important as what we should say is what we already are saying.

If we discover intelligent life beyond Earth, we shouldn't reply instantly. We need to make sure they are good kind not those evil kind that try to kill other intelligent life. If they are bad kind, try to avoid contact with them. If they are good kind, we should definitely reply and let them know that they are not the only intelligent life. We should first introduce ourselves and our history. We should also ask them about their history and their current technology.
